TVSummary guide: The Amazing Race 12: 12/9/07 Episode 6 Recap

Kmanpat writes, "Welcome to Leg 6! Last time, on Vilnius? No, We’re the Good Guys!, teams scuttled from Africa to Lithuania, where there was much partying in ethnic garb and bad counting. The Archie Bunkers continue to mend their relationship, as Christina told her dad she loved him for the 5487th time, and the Marlboros told each other they hated each other. (Nathan: ‘I hate you more than the depths of the earth.” Jennifer: “The depths of the earth are less shallow than you are.”) Nicolas gets lost looking for a hair salon (Kmanpat: “Darn it, that means he’s not gay.” Toyouke: “Excellent, more for me. Move away from the straight boy!”) and the Skippers die. Well, not really, they almost got run over by a bus and were eliminated. Close enough. Who will be eliminated. . . next?

Arrival at the pit stop last episode:
1st – TK/Rachel, Team Granola, arrived at 1:00 PM

Aukstaitija Windmill, Rumšiškės, Lithuania

1:00 AM TK/Rachel (1st)
Clue: Fly 900 miles to Dubrovnik, Croatia! Once there, take a taxi to the base of the Fort of Saint Lawrence. You have $109 for this leg of the race.
Rachel: “Croatia. . . isn’t there somewhere that gymnasts come from or something?” (Kmanpat: “I think the Country of Croatia has a new advertising slogan!”)

1:01 AM Kynt/Vyxsin (2nd)
1:15 AM Ronald/Christina (3rd)
1:20 AM Azaria/Hendekea (4th) – Hendekea: “I don’t think I know Croatian, but I know the Bosnian for ‘There’s a party in my pants!’ (Toyouke: “And if we watched this with any straight men whatsoever, comment goes HERE.”)

1:29 AM Nathan/Jennifer (5th)
1:42 AM Nicolas/Donald (6th)

Teams arrive at the airport in the following order:
1- TK/Rachel
2- Kynt/Vyxsin
3- Azaria/Hendekea

4- Ronald/Christina
5- Nathan/Jennifer
6- Nicolas/Donald

Let’s take this a team at a time, shall we? Teams get flights in the following order:

1-Ronald/Christina – the Archie Bunkers stop at a hotel on the way and make a phone call to LOT Air Poland and book tickets. They then feed their information later to Team Beaker.

2-Kynt/Vyxsin – Kynt and Vyxsin are second in line at the Internet terminal, and then found a ticket agent who booked them on the LOT Air Poland flight after Kynt decided that it might be difficult to catch the 6 am flight that was available.

3-TK/Rachel – when Czech Air opened, they were first in line and were able to get the 6 am tickets that they had found earlier on the Internet.

4-Nicolas/Donald – they were originally fifth in line. However, when Archie Bunker decided to stick with their flight and the Beakers and Marlboros got distracted and wandered, they became second, and got the same tickets as the Granolas.

5-Nathan/Jennifer – who were fourth in line, wandered to the Goths ticket agent, only to wander back, find all of the Czech Air tickets gone, and then wandered back to the Goths ticket agent to get the Air Poland tickets.

6-Azaria/Hendekea – they are third in the Czech Air line, and they leave to find something better. They don’t find it, and end up at the Goths ticket agent on Polish Air in BUSINESS CLASS. Thus, they go back and get tickets through Frankfurt.

Teams are now on the following flights to Vilnius:

Flight 1: Vilnius to Prague to Dubrovnik on Czech Air, arrives 11:20 AM
1) TK/Rachel
2) Nicolas/Donald

Unfortunately, they miss their connection in Prague, and the Granolas get booked through Vienna, and the Chicagoans get booked through Zagreb.

Flight 2: Vilnius to Warsaw to Dubrovnik on LOT Polish Air, arrives 11:20 AM
1) Ronald/Christina
2) Kynt/Vyxsin
3) Nathan/Jennifer

Flight 3: Vilnius to Frankfurt to Dubrovnik on Lufthansa, arrives eventually
1) Azaria/Hendekea

Teams take the Amazing Yellow lines to their destination and arrive in Dubrovnik the following order:
1- Nathan/Jennifer
2- Kynt/Vyxsin
3- Ronald/Christina

4- TK/Rachel
5- Nicolas/Donald
6- Azaria/Hendekea

Teams taksi to Fort of Saint Lawrence and teams arrive at the clue box in the following order:
1- Ronald/Christina
2- Nathan/Jennifer
3- Kynt/Vyxsin

4- TK/Rachel
5- Nicolas/Donald
6- Azaria/Hendekea

And teams come to the sixth roadblock.

ROADBLOCK:
Who has a builder’s eye?

In this roadblock, one person must help rebuild a wall that was destroyed in the Yugoslavian Civil war of the 1990’s. They must search 150 stones for one of 8 that fit in the wall. The stone mason will give you your next clue once the stone fits perfectly.

The following team members complete the Roadblock.
1- Ronald – “It’s a giant jigsaw puzzle!”
2- Nathan
3- Kynt
– Vyxsin: “It’s like Tetris!”
4- Rachel
5- Donald
6- Azaria

Teams complete the Roadblock in the following order:
1- Ronald/Christina
2- Nathan/Jennifer
3- Kynt/Vyxsin

4- TK/Rachel
5- Nicolas/Donald
6- Azaria/Hendekea

Teams are then instructed to go to the roof of the Fort of Saint Lawrence and take a tandem zip line to Fort Bocar to find their next clue.

Teams arrive on the roof in the following order:
1- Ronald/Christina
2- Nathan/Jennifer
3- Kynt/Vyxsin

4- TK/Rachel
5- Nicolas/Donald
6- Azaria/Hendekea

Teams land at Fort Bocar in the following order:
1- Ronald/Christina
2- Nathan/Jennifer
3- Kynt/Vyxsin

4- TK/Rachel
5- Nicolas/Donald
6- Azaria/Hendekea

And we get the Detour Clue.

DETOUR:
Short and Long OR Long and Short

*Short and Long: Teams rappel down to the base of Fort Bocar, follow the marked path to the city wall and climb up it with a rope ladder. On the other side, they then search for a plaza where they will find their next clue. The physical piece of this task is short, but the city search for the clue box may take a long time.
*Long and Short: Teams take a tandem zip line to the water below. Teams then swim to a floating platform and take a fishing boat and paddle along the city walls to a harbor. Teams then search for the plaza for their next clue. The physical piece of this task takes a long time, but the city search for the clue box is very short, as the plaza is near the harbor.

1-Ronald/Christina choose Long & Short
2-Nathan/Jennifer choose Long & Short
3-Kynt/Vyxsin choose Short & Long

4-TK/Rachel choose Short & Long
5-Nicolas/Donald choose Long & Short
6-Azaria/Hendekea choose Long & Short – after watching Team Chicago take the same detour to keep tabs on them.

Teams complete the detour in the following order:
1- Nathan/Jennifer
2- Ronald/Christina
3- Kynt/Vyxsin
4- TK/Rachel
5- Nicolas/Donald
6- Azaria/Hendekea

Teams must now travel by taxi four miles to the PIT STOP, the Stone Cross Overlook. This structure is the sixth Pit Stop in a racearoundtheworld. The last team to arrive MAY be eliminated!

Cue the Croatian militia! *BANG*

1-Ronald/Christina – who win a catamaran. And they know what it is!
2-Kynt/Vyxsin
–who were the third team to arrive behind. . .
3-Nathan/Jennifer
– who took illegal transportation to the pit stop because a taxi didn’t like them because they were wet. (Kmanpat: “And loud. Toyouke: “And annoying.” Auburnium: “Yeah, shut up, FLO.”)
4-TK/Rachel
5-Nicolas/Donald
6-Azaria/Hendekea

And Azaria and Hendekea are eliminated. They say they beat themselves.

ORDER NOW:
1st – Ronald/Christina
2nd – Kynt/Vyxsin
3rd – Nathan/Jennifer
4th – TK/Rachel
5th – Nicolas/Donald

In two weeks, because CBS has to show TAR on Sunday and be pre-empted by the three hour freaking Survivor Finale: Donald is stunned by the fast forward. I think he has to get a tattoo. And Kynt loses faith (and his temper) for Vyxsin. Until next time!
